And were are off

Found a baby calf this morning and her/his mom may be having twins. Mama wouldn't let me near enough to see little Baby Bulls Eye . Mama Bulls Eye is a bit wall eyed , but I know she meant it when she headed towards me as I came into the pasture.  This cow is black with a white face and a large circle of black right in the middle of her forehead. The dumb thing I did was name her 1st calf Target. Target is long gone but I sometimes call his Mama , Target.  So this calf , whom  I can only tell you about , even though I did have my camera , is black with a mix of a white and black face , just like all the calves last year. Hence , the camera !

Any thought on names ? Thoughts ?

Quilting Days are here again

Just a brief missive from the busy farm. Soon all the 20 plus expected cow babies will be here and then I will be ready to hit the road and teach. I have updated my classes and added an Artist Profile. This little baby is called Early Bird and all the other "mama's to be" are mooing at her .

What's in your wallet

Happy August and back to school etc !
We are enjoying some very cool temperature for North Georgia ! It is 63 at 6 am instead of 74 !
Tonight I will be sharing the honor of presenting the program at Cotton Patch Quilt Guild with 2 fellow guild members. Hopefully someone will take some good pictures. The program is about using hand dyed fabric . I hope to get down to my barn studio to make a few more wallets and sell them to support the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter. My daughter has volunteered there this summer.
Cool temps and some rain just started!
