Cool Beans

Hi and Happy New year ! As always it is fun to cut up a simple block and make something complicated looking. As with the disappearing 9 patch quilts this one is sure to amaze your quilting friends. The Missouri Quilter is the best for tutorials but I took pictures at my quilting group so you can see how many possibilities there are with this technique. Basically you cut 2 big squares , sew a quarter each seam all the way around. Cut this in half on each diagonal , making 4 half square triangles. Heck thats cool enough right there ( do watch out all the edges are bias ) . Take the 4 half squares and make a pinwheel block.
Cut this block into equal thirds each way and spin around the components to create 6 different blocks.

  1. Wow....I didn't know that you could get so many designs starting out with TWO squares of fabric. I want to try this some time!!!
